Parents,
Our Family Daily Devos are tools to help supply you with daily spiritual reinforcements for our Sunday lesson. They come in 3 Sections: 1) Learn It 2) Live It 3) Know It. It is our sincere desire that you spend valuable time imparting spiritual truths into the lives of your children (Proverbs 22:6).
-- Pastor KC & the ONEderful Kids Crew --
•LEARN IT - Daily scriptures and passages to read and discuss with your family.
•LIVE IT - Suggested hands on activities for you and your child to apply what you have learned.
•KNOW IT - Our memory verse your child can practice saying each night (bring the signed sheet back for a treat).
ON THE TRAIL: The Exodus of Israel
Lesson Goal:
The children will learn through the story of the Ten Commandments
that we are to love God and love others as ourselves.
Main Point:
Love God, Love Others!
Bible Story:
Exodus 19:1 – 20:21 (God gives Moses the Ten Commandments)
Memory Verse:
“Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT)
Learn It!
Read the 10 Commandments (2 each night) and discuss them with your family on their level
Monday - Exodus 20:1-6 (Commandments 1 & 2)
Tuesday - Exodus 20:7-11 (Commandments 3 & 4)
Wednesday - Exodus 20:12-13 (Commandments 5 & 6)
Thursday - Exodus 20:14-15 (Commandments 7 & 8)
Friday - Exodus 20:16-17(Commandments 9 & 10)
Live It!
Do these activities throughout the week to reinforce the learn it time each night.
Monday - Make homemade invitations and invite another child/family to church.
Tuesday - Talk about what an idol is and why God wants us “idol free”.
Wednesday - Have the children make a meal (all by themselves) to honor their parents.
Thursday - Pull out your wedding pictures/video and look at them and talk about commitment.
Friday - Do something nice as a family for 1 or more of your neighbors.
Know it!
Memory Verse:
“Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39 (NLT)
Say your memory verse each day (parents sign in box) and if you complete all 5 nights, print out the PDF below, cut on the dotted line and bring the sign off sheet back to church for a special prize from the “Treasure Box”.
