There's No Plan B

by Pastor Conway Edwards

"And if you give yourself to the hungry, And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness, And your gloom will become like midday."
Isaiah 58:10

Todd Phillips writes, "Since the beginning of time, God had a plan for his people to be at the forefront to make an impact in God's name and change the world.  Today, there is still absolutely no Plan B when it comes to our calling to serve the physical and spiritual needs of the world in which we live."

We are plan A. That's it, if we don't do it, it doesn't and won't get done. There is no plan B. So, on the heels of Compassion Sunday, I would like o say thank you for prioritizing God's values and making His plans, your plans.

On Sunday, we served our community, our senior citizens, painted over graffiti, served our single parents and facilitated the clean up of homes of the less fortunate.  We served the "least of these." Instead of filling up seats and receiving a sermon, we became the sermon for the community of Collin County. Instead of going to church, we embodied the church. Those far from God did not come to us; rather we took the Light of the World to the darkness.

I was not only proud to be your pastor on Sunday, I was proud to be a fellow servant who served with heartfelt compassion relying on Jesus as our model. My heart is filled with joy, knowing that our church gets it! God's Priorities and Plans must be our priorities and plans.

For a time we cannot see,
Dr. Conway Edwards
Lead Pastor
