Question 1: What helps a husband remember that he should put his wife before his mother?

Since knowledge of the context in which this question is being asked is not clear the answer is intentionally generic. It may be helpful to recall that in Genesis the man leaves his mother and cleaves to his wife. The man’s priority shifts from his mother to his wife. She now becomes the woman for whom he is ultimately responsible. This is not to suggest that the man cannot maintain a relationship with his mother. However, he must be considerate of his wife, making sure to involve her in the relationship as well since they are now one flesh.

Question 2: What can a man do if he has already broken the mirror that helps her feel significant, and she now feels insignificant?

First, apologize to your wife. Then consistently reassure her of your love for her and her beauty and keep your eyes focused on her and her alone. It will take a lot of time in order to regain her trust. So be patient and love her through the process and season of healing.
