Backyard Bible Study
The purpose of Backyard Bible Study is to help students grows spiritually through studying the word of God and applying what they learn to their daily lives. Whether it is teaching high school students how to go through the book of Romans or teaching junior high students “The Four Marks of a Young Disciple,” the Backyard Bible Studies are designed to take students deeper into the word of God and ultimately develop a more intimate relationship with Christ. The Holy Spirit’s job is to grow us spiritually, and BYBS puts students into an environment that is conducive to the Holy Spirit doing His work.
Each week students at Backyard Bible Study come out of their comfort zone of just hearing a message by delving into the word of God and discovering biblical truths for themselves. This is what Paul challenges us all to do in 2 Tim. 2:15 when he states, "Study to show ourselves approved by God as we rightly divide the word of truth."
Students are challenged on a weekly basis to live out what they learn in a number of ways, including influencing their friends and family members for Christ by inviting them into their world of biblical teaching. At the Backyard Bible Study, students experience true fellowship, breaking of bread, and biblical teaching; all for the purpose of being more like Christ.
